How do you find this site? (in 3 words)
dull, boring, unattractive

Who do you think the site is created for?
Teenages, aunties which want to go check out where is the outlets located at.

What are the good attributes of the site (in terms
of usability, aesthetic issues, etc)?
some links to navigate around, different font sizes/colours to differentiate the words and headings

they show their discounts/promotions and the information given is very edquate.

What are the bad attributes of the site?
there are no focal points, and some of the links will suddenly disappear.

for example> when you click gift voucher or this card, the contact us disppears, when you click the others, it appears again.

they anyhow use font colours, colours used not constant. The logo may be pink at one time and when you click other navigations, it becomes black back again.

what is browser-safe colour palette/ web-safe colours?
it is the colour palette of web browsers that consists of 216 colours. but, some computers/browsers may vary and are able to display 256 colours(basic palette). different colours would appear, for example blue may appear greyish when the person is is 256 colour mode which is selected in 216 colour mode. therefore, if designing a webpage, it would be better to use colours within the 216 colour palette so that most of the computers, otherwise there will be dithered effects to the colour selected.

is it relevant in today’s context? why?
yes. it is able to display on most of the browsers from(1990 onwards, i suppose?). most of the computers out there now are able to display more than 216 colours, there are still gadgets like cell phones and other mobile technology out there that displays 216 colours. and by using the websafe palette, your design could reach to more people, instead of just people using the latest technology.

what are the common font face found on pc and mac?
trebuchet ms, times new roman, impact, georgia, courier new, verdana, comic sans ms, arial, arial black, lucida console, tahoma

what is page loading time and how it influence your design?
it is the time taken for the browser to load a webpage. for example your image size is too big and it will take a longer time to load up your webpage.

read about webdesign process article and write what you think about it.

http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/2007/03/19/web-design-and-worflow-process-comparison/

after reading the article, i think that designing a blog is not just putting in codes, doing scripts and whatever to make out a design.

before even doing that, you have to do alot of things. you have to plan out your design and so on. not only that you have to think about different factors even before you start designing the web. i think, webdesign is tough and not as easy as it seems?

but this article clearly shows what you have to look out for when you design a web, and i think it is very useful as it gives alot of information and allows me to uderstand what is webdesign like.

and this also combines alot of modules we have done so far, like typography, design fundamentals, codid. layout, concept, what font typeface should i use whatsoevers are skills that we have to uderstand and know before we do any design.

yea. thats about it! conclusion, there’s alot of factors to consider and you will need alot of concepts!

name as many browsers as you can:
safari, mozilla firefox, internet explorer, amaya, opera, icab, netscape navigator.

what is browser wars?
browser war is more browsers produced in this industry over time. increasing in competition between different browsers. unlike in the past(my early times), there was only internet explorer. now, there are already different browsers provided for mac, or windows(different kinds). you have many different browsers to choose from, for example mozilla, safari. each getting better and better(in terms of performance), for example, no javascript lags.

what is ip address?
ip address is a unique set of numbers that one will have when he/she logs on to the internet(also known as host name). every person will have their own set of numbers, so that if the person is hacking or anything on the net, the other party will be able to track the person down as the address shows where your location is.(region, country)

what is url?
url is a domain name that is used, so that people are able to access your webpages. more like, a link that navigates you to a file.

what is a good website?
-interactive, like who wants to visit a full of words webpage? maybe some navigations for you to click, something interesting comes out, and not some blank page. makes people anticipate, whats going on, whats going to happen after i click on the navigation.
-contains useful information.
-colours that will attract your attention.
-audio effects (maybe clicking on different navigations give you different sound effects)
- good quality graphics
